IT Servicezentrum - Leitung, Sekretariat, Forschungsdatenmanagment

Management, Secretariat & Research Data Management

Management: The management of our team is responsible for the strategic direction and operational management. They ensure the successful implementation of our goals and that all projects are carried out efficiently and with high quality.

Secretariat: Our secretariat is the central point for organizational and administrative matters and ensures that daily processes run smoothly.

Research data management: The research data management team supports our researchers in the structured collection, management and archiving of their research data. We ensure that the data complies with the current guidelines, is sustainably secured and remains accessible in the long term in order to promote scientific quality and transparency.

Team - Anwenderbetreuung

User support

User support supports the IT managers of the professorships and institutions, especially in the operation of decentralized workstation computers and in the design of digital work environments. The team also informs, advises and trains users. Another focus is the development of a central helpdesk with a hotline. The external presentation of the ITS service portfolio and the optimization of service processes are also continuously being developed. Students benefit from offers such as the PC garage and the laptop consultation hour. The team is also involved in the design and implementation of framework agreements for hardware and IT services.

Team - Anwendungssysteme

Application systems

The application systems team is responsible for the design, provision and operation of identity management, including rights and role management and the CampusCard. In addition, it supports the IT-side processing of business processes, introduces a document management system (DMS) and develops it further. The team also works on the campus management system and operates the library system, including the provision of library services. It also looks after the IT workstations of the university library and administration.

Team - Kommunikationssysteme

Communication systems

The communications systems team is responsible for planning, expanding and operating the university's network infrastructure. This includes connecting to national and international networks and providing external access. It designs and maintains network management systems to ensure secure operation. In addition, communications services are provided and continuously developed, security structures are designed and the connection to the University of Bayreuth's branch offices is ensured.

Team - Zentrale Systeme

Central systems

The Central Systems team is responsible for the provision and operation of high-performance computing clusters for scientific computing as well as for the design, provision and operation of central servers and services. This also includes the operation of the in-house printing facility and plotters as well as the maintenance of the hardware and software in the computer pools that are available to students for training and independent work. The team also offers multimedia services and advises on applying for large equipment and on the selection of decentralized servers.
