In principle, the guideline value for most print products is 300 dpi at the original size in the output format - both for the print data document itself and for integrated images.
The specified value can vary, especially for large-format products:
For posters, we recommend a resolution of 600 dpi.
The trim, also called bleed, is the edge that extends beyond the final format of the printed matter and is removed by the cutting machine. In your print data, create a 3 mm bleed all around.
To avoid misunderstandings: a sheet has two sides (front and back) that can be printed on!
Depending on the type and number of pages of your printed product, you can select different types of folds. In our online shop, the fold lines are marked with guidelines in the preview view.
When cutting to the final format, deviations of up to one millimeter can occur. The trim therefore serves as a margin for these possible cutting differences.
The differences can also affect the folding of the printed product. Therefore, create a trim of 3 mm all around in your print data.
Important graphic and textual information that must not be cut off should be placed at least 5 mm from the edge in the final format.
