HPC System
Our newest high-performance computer "festus" has been in the test phase since August of this year. The new and powerful HPC cluster, funded by the DFG, will play a central role in computationally intensive research projects. It is used in particular in the areas of electronic structure and dynamics, product and process optimization, dynamics of fluids and soft matter, as well as in the simulation and analysis of ecosystems and AI-based medical data analysis.
The test results so far and user satisfaction are promising, so we expect to be able to grant all members of the BZHPC access to "festus" from November this year. From January next year, the cluster will then be made available to all university members.
