The backup is carried out in a two-tier disk repository, which is distributed across different locations for security reasons. Since the backup is now carried out on disks and no longer on tapes, any necessary data recovery is also significantly faster.
The backed up data is immutable for 28 days, thus also offering protection against ransomware attacks.
